WATER LOGGEDPhotographed 12.21.07
I decided this swamped canoe is a good candidate for black and white. Now you can use your imagination to fill in some blanks. This water could have the clear amber tones of a slow-moving river—or it might be a blue-green Florida bay. Just take your pick.

THE OLD OAK TREEPhotographed 12.21.07
If this oak tree could talk, it would have many tales to tell. Most of its stories would involve children in the tire swing, and a few would be about those who climbed into its arms.

THE BARN CATPhotographed 12.22.07
No barn is complete without a cat, and this one has obviously eaten his share of mice. He also eats dry cat food that's kept in the barn. I've filled his bowl a few times. Unfortunately, the chickens eat this fella's food if he turns his back for even a minute.
I had to laugh when I saw the cat let out his frustration. He rushed at a chicken, reared up tall and hissed in it's face—then boxed its head with his paw.
